Cy-Falls to battle Cy-Springs in high school football action
The Houston Cypress Falls High School football team will return to action for the first time in two weeks when it hosts Houston Cypress Springs at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.
Cypress Falls won 42-0 over Conroe Oak Ridge in its opener on Thursday, Aug. 31. The Golden Eagles cranked out 496 yards and were led by Brice Peters, who rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns.
Cameron Henkhaus completed 11 of his 14 passes for 141 yards and one touchdown. Oak Ridge was held to just 91 yards of offense. Cypress Springs was beaten 41-0 by Mayde Creek in its opener on Thursday, Aug. 30.
The Panthers allowed 554 yards and had no answer for Troy McCormick, who rushed for four touchdowns. Cypress Springs tallied 283 yards. Troy Brown led the Panthers as he threw for 139 yards and rushed for 79.
Cypress Falls will play at Cy-Creek in a 6 p.m. game on Saturday, Sept. 22 and it will play Jersey Village on Friday, Sept. 28 in a 7 p.m. tilt. The Golden Eagles will play at Langham Creek on Friday, Oct. 4 in a 7 p.m. game.
Cypress Springs will play at Cy Lakes on Friday, Sept. 21 in a 7 p.m. game and will play Cy-Creek on Saturday, Sept. 29 in a 6 p.m. showdown. The Panthers will play Cy Woods on Friday, Oct. 5 in a 7 p.m. game.
