Bridgeland offers residents fresh produce at farmers market

The Bridgeland Farmers Market will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 9, Jan. 13 and Feb. 10 near the Lakeland Activity Center.

The market will feature fresh produce, baked goods, herbs, nuts, honey, preserves, farm eggs and meat from pasture-fed animals. There will also be live music.

"When we hosted the first farmers market, we thought we might offer the event a few times a year if we had a good response," said activities director Elizabeth Dominguez in a press release. "However, response was so enthusiastic, we decided we could host it monthly."

This event is open to the public and is organized by the Bridgeland Homeowners Association with the help of resident volunteers. Sponsors include David Weekley Homes and Billie Toland with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.

Bridgeland also sponsors other festivals, classes and children's summer camps.

The Bridgeland Farmers Market is at 16902 Bridgeland Landing.
