Smith Middle School student named regional student association officer

Marshall Penn, a Smith Middle School eighth-grade student, was recently named reporter for the 2012-13 Brazos Valley Technology Student Association.

Penn is the first Smith student to hold a regional BVTSA office since the Cy-Fair Independent School district middle school opened four years ago, according to a press release.

"I am very proud of Marshall," Josh Simmons, school technology education instructor, said in the release. "I know he will represent the region and Smith very well."

The BVTSA offers competition in which students are judged at the area, regional, state and national level for projects completed throughout the school year.

Smith Middle School is located at 19325 Cypress N. Houston Road, Cypress.
