Cy Woods High School grad contributes in Louisiana State University's win
Cy Woods High School graduate Desiree Elliott contributed in the Louisiana State University's 3-1 victory over the University of Georgia in women's college volleyball action Nov. 9.
Elliott, a junior middle blocker, contributed 12 kills, six blocks and a .308 hitting percentage in the win.
The Tigers won 28-30, 25-17, 28-26 and 25-21 at Ramsey Center in Athens. The team is now 12-13 on the season.
The next contest for Louisiana State University is at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, on the road against Missouri.
A junior middle blocker, Elliott played under coach Ashley Ahlfinger at Cy Woods, where she won multiple All-District and All-State accolades, including 2006 Newcomer of the Year and Most Valuable Hitter awards. Elliott is majoring in business management.
