Mingoia, Hoffman elected to Cy-Fair ISD school board
Unofficial results of the school board election held Tuesday, Nov. 6 show that Darcy Mingoia and Kevin Hoffman were elected to the two open positions on the Cy-Fair Independent School District Board of Trustees.
For the Position 3 seat, Mingoia received 46,431 votes over opponent Lillian Wanjagi, who drew 16,460. Incumbent Bill Morris had 36,927 votes in his losing reelection bid. This will be Mingoia's first service to the district.
For Position 4, Hoffman tallied 60,912 votes and beat Angela Wesley with 38,499. This will be Hoffman's first service on the board of trustees.
According to a district press release, the election drew 99,818 votes for Position 3 and 99,411 for Position 4. Of the 247,535 registered voters within the school district, almost 66 percent cast ballots in the election.
Official results will be canvassed and announced during a special meeting of the board of trustees on Monday, Nov. 19. The winning candidates will be sworn in during the Thursday, Dec. 6 committee-of-the-whole meeting. Each elected board member will serve a three-year term.
