Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce sets dates for 2013 pageants, wine fair
The Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce is already gearing up for its pageants for 2013.
The Miss Cy-Fair Houston Pageant and the Cy-Fair Princess Pageant will take place Saturday, March 23, 2013. Miss Cy-Fair Houston Kyndal Irwin will hand over her crown to the 2013 winner during the event.
Both pageants will take place at the Berry Center, 8877 Barker Cypress Road. All contestants must live within the Cy-Fair Independent School District boundaries.
The Miss Cy-Fair Houston Pageant is for girls ages 15 through 19 and the entry fee is $250. Girls ages 4 through 14 can enter the Princess Pageant and the entry fee is $150.
Miss Cy-Fair Houston will receive a $1,000 scholarship, a crown, sash, trophy and prizes for local businesses.
The four categories for girls who enter the Cy-Fair Princess Pageant are ages 4-5, 6-9, 10-12 and 13-14. Winners of this pageant will also receive a trophy, prizes and gifts. All contestants will receive a goody bag. First, second and third runner-up will be chosen, as well as Most Photogenic.
Due to the Cy-Fair Wine Fair's success this year, it will be expanding in 2013, according to a chamber press release. The community celebration, to be held at Spring Cypress Village, will include a VIP night Friday, April 5, with the Wine Fair held Saturday, April 6, 2013. The fair will include community art, wine, live music, vendor booths, crafts and food samplings.
