Houston Arts Alliance awards grant to Cypress artist
The Houston Arts Alliance (HAA) recently awarded a $10,000 grant to Cypress artist Rebecca French to support her individual art project.
The alliance's individual artist grant program provides funding to local artists in an effort to advance Houston's reputation as a vibrant creative hub and destination for cultural tourism.
French will use the grant to create a dance film, "The All Hands Meeting," showcasing the antics of a group of bureaucrats.
"HAA is pleased to enable artists and arts organizations to thrive by connecting the nonprofit arts to the larger creative industry, the community and government," said Jonathon Glus, CEO of HAA, in a press release. "Houston's vibrant arts community is one of the dynamic livability factors that draws tourists to our city."
