Cy-Fair ISD athletes sign letters of intent during early signing period

Several athletes from the Cy-Fair area signed letters of intent to attend various schools during the early signing period.

The beginning early signing period, which started Wednesday, Nov. 14, saw 19 of Cy-Fair ISD's athletes from seven schools commit to play sports at universities and colleges across the nation.

Cy-Fair High School had three softball players and one baseball player sign letters, including Amanda Fulkerson signing on to attend Northwestern University, Jordan Rains to the University of Houston, Mariah Gibson to Blinn College and Aaron Dodson to Baylor University.

Cypress Falls High School had two basketball commits, with Carol Willie signing with Texas Christian University and Kavin Tilbury with Stephen F. Austin. Cypress Lakes High School also had a girls basketball commit, with Kim Nebo signing with Southern Illinois University.

Cypress Woods High School led the way with six early commits. For girls volleyball, Chloe Collins signed with University of Texas, Marisa Guzman with University of Houston and Victoria Arenas with Texas A&M University. For baseball, Matt Broadbent signed with Texas Tech University, Casey Meisner with Texas Tech University and Ryan Hendrix with Texas A&M University. Cypress Ranch High School also added a girls volleyball player commit, with Rachel Grier signing with Oakland University (Mich.).

Jersey Village High School and Langham Creek High School both had baseball commits. Kirby Peek signed with the University of Houston and Robie Rojas with Oklahoma State University while Tyler Ellison will attend Blinn College will represent Langham Creek.
