Langham Creek grad Newsome helps UT Austin win
Langham Creek graduate Danny Newsome played for University of Texas at Austin in a 69-55 win over Mississippi State Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Lahaina Civic Center in Maui, according to University of Texas at Austin's website.
The freshman forward helped the Longhorns improve to 3-2 on the season.
Texas-Austin's next game is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at home against Sam Houston State.
Newsome is a Houston native, and a 2012 graduate of Langham Creek High School, where he helped his team to a 48-20 combined record during his two years as a letter winner. He averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks per game. Newsome is the son of Creech and Janice Newsome.
