Man accused of shooting cop arrested in Jersey Village
A man accused of shooting an off-duty police officer was arrested yesterday at the Exclusive Furniture store at U.S. 290 and Jones Road in Jersey Village.
The shooting happened yesterday at the Alexan Bunker Hill apartments. HPD officer Frank L. Pierce, a resident and courtesy officer at the apartments, interrupted a suspected burglary and was shot by one of the men.
Pierce was upgraded from critical to good condition this morning and is recovering in Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center. According to the Chronicle story, his wife, Angela Miller, a Jersey Village police officer, was on duty when she learned he had been shot and rushed to the hospital to be at his side, said Houston Police Officers' Union Vice President J.J. Berry.
