Cy Springs grad McKinney helps in Sam Houston win
Cy Springs High School graduate Marquel McKinney scored 12 points as Sam Houston State University won 89-53 over Huston-Tillotson Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, according to Sam Houston State's website.
The sophomore guard also recorded five rebounds, four assists and four steals for the Bearkats, who improved to 5-5 on the season.
Sam Houston State's next game is 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at home against Howard Payne University.
McKinney is a redshirt sophomore guard for Sam Houston State. He is a 2011 graduate of Cy Springs High School. McKinney is from Houston.
