Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center to offer free bone density screenings Jan. 19
The Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center will offer a free bone density screening beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 in the Professional Building.
According to a press release from Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center, the testing will be for "the ankle for women ages 40-65, who are at greatest risk for developing osteoporosis as a result of decreased estrogen levels. The entire screening from sign-in to completion takes approximately 10 minutes and is completely non-invasive. As the screening requires a bare heel, participants are reminded to avoid wearing socks or hose or to wear those that are easily removed. This is considered a base-line screening and follow-up will need to be done through the participant's primary care physician."
The Professional Building is at 11302 Fallbrook Drive, Houston.
