Iscential named one of the Best Companies to Work For in Texas

Houston-based risk management firm Iscential was recently named one of the 2013 Best Companies to Work For in Texas.

The award program, created in 2006, is a project of Texas Monthly magazine, the Texas Association of Business, the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group, according to a press release issued Monday, Dec. 31.

"We are truly honored to be named one of the Texas Best Companies to Work For," said Iscential CEO Warren Barhorst, in the release. "It's really a testament to our incredible employees and management team that is the secret to our success."

The statewide survey and awards program was designed to recognize the best places of employment in Texas, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.

To be considered for the honor, companies must have at least 15 employees working in Texas, be a for profit or nonprofit business or government entity, be a publicly or privately held business, have a facility in Texas, and must have been in business for at least one year.

Nominees entered into a two-part survey process. The first part evaluated the company's workplace policies, systems, philosophies, practices and demographics. The second considered an employee survey to measure employee experience.

The final rankings for the state will be revealed Tuesday, March 19 at the Hyatt Regency in Austin and will be listed in the April issue of Texas Monthly.
