Cy Falls grad Goodwin helps in North Texas victory
Cy Falls High School graduate Loryn Goodwin scored 17 points to help to lead the North Texas 68-65 win over conference rival Arkansas, Little Rock Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock, the team's website reported.
Goodwin also recorded three rebounds, an assist and one steal as the Mean Green improved to 5-10 on the season and 4-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
North Texas' next game is 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at home against South Alabama.
Goodwin is a freshman guard for the University of North Texas. She is a 2012 graduate of Cypress Falls High School, where her team made a run to the 5A State Semifinals. She was named District 17-5A MVP and an All-State selection by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and the Texas Girls Coaches Association. Goodwin is from Houston and is the daughter of Trampas and Laura Goodwin.
