Spanish star inspires soccer standout
A: When I was 5.
Q: Who is your favorite athlete?
A: The right back for Barcelona, Dani Alves. He’s a great leader. Sometimes he isn’t considered to have the skills as the rest of the defenders, but he always works hard to get the job done.
Q: Who motivates you the most?
A: My mom. She’s a single parent. She’s everything I have. When I don’t want to work hard, I think about her and how I want to make her proud.
Q: How have your coaches made you a better player?
A: Other coaches might think that it’s just about winning, but Coach (Scott) Tucker has shown us that it’s not just about one individual, it’s about the entire team. It has to be the team, and you can’t do anything by yourself.
