Cy Woods grad Garcia contributes to Southwestern win
Cy Woods High School graduate Audrey Garcia scored 11 points in a 90-61 win by Southwestern University (Texas) over conference rival Dallas on Sunday, Jan. 27 at Maher Athletic Center in Irving, the Southwestern website reported.
Garcia also recorded two rebounds, one steal and a block for the Pirates, who improved to 14-5 on the season and 8-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Southwestern's next game is 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at home against Centenary (LA).
Garcia is a freshman guard for Southwestern University (Texas). She is a 2012 graduate of Cy Woods High School, where she earned a letter in soccer, two in track and field, two in cross country and three in basketball for the Wildcats. The psychology major is from Cypress and is the daughter of Ruben and Holly Garcia.
