Cy Falls grad Goodwin contributes to North Texas victory

Cy Falls High School graduate Loryn Goodwin scored 13 points in a 64-46 win by the University of North Texas over conference rival Louisiana at Lafayette on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at Earl K. Long Gym in Lafayette, the North Texas website reported.

Goodwin also recorded two rebounds, one assist and three steals for the Mean Green, who improved to 8-13 on the season and 7-5 in the Sun Belt Conference.

North Texas' next game is 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 at Arkansas State.

Goodwin is a freshman guard for the University of North Texas. She is a 2012 graduate of Cypress Falls High School, where her team made a run to the 5A State Semifinals. She was named District 17-5A MVP and an All-State selection by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and the Texas Girls Coaches Association. Goodwin is from Houston and is the daughter of Trampas and Laura Goodwin.
