Cy Ridge grad Colas plays in Alfred loss

Cy Ridge High School graduate Gerald Colas scored 18 points, but Alfred University lost 73-50 to conference rival Elmira College on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Speidel Gymnasium in Elmira, the Alfred website reported.

The junior center also recorded seven rebounds and one assist for the Saxons, who are 6-15 on the season and 2-9 in the Empire 8.

Alfred's next game is 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 at home against Nazareth College.

Colas played at Cy Ridge in 2005-2009 where he was a Third-Team All-District selection in 2008-2009. He is the son of Gerald Sr. and Romona Colas.
