Cy-Creek grad Mataya scores two in Southwestern University loss
Cy-Creek High School graduate Daniel Mataya contributed two points in Southwestern University (Texas)'s 64-62 home loss to conference rival Colorado College on Sunday, Feb. 17 in Georgetown.
The junior forward also recorded a rebound, three assists and a steal for the Pirate Men, who are 10-14 on the season and 6-8 in the SCAC.
Mataya played at Cypress Creek from 2006 to 2010, lettering in basketball. He is the son of Tony and Janie Mataya.
