Cy Springs grad McKinney plays in Sam Houston State win
Cy Springs High School graduate Marquel McKinney played for Sam Houston State University in its 64-50 win at home over conference rival Stephen F. Austin State University on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Sam Houston State's website reported.
McKinney recorded two rebounds and two assists for the Bearkats, who are 14-12 on the season and 7-7 in the Southland Conference.
Sam Houston State's next game is 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at home against Nicholls State University.
McKinney is a redshirt sophomore guard for Sam Houston State University. He is a 2011 graduate of Cy Springs High School. McKinney is from Houston.
