Chamber announces 2010 team

The Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce introduced Mark Sappington, P.E. as the organization's 2010 board chairman at the annual Cy-Fair Installation Celebration Ceremony in January.
I attended the Chamber's February General Membership Luncheon at the Northwest Forest Conference Center (YUM FOOD!) and Mark was, for the first time, in charge of the meeting - introducing the speaker, making announcements and so forth. He is a lively speaker and, during a talk with him after the luncheon, said he and the board were brainstorming 2010 goals and issues to conquer.
I must give kudos to Reginald Lillie, who stepped into the role of immediate past board chairman in January. He served at the board's helm for not one, but two years. That is not a highly-paid job ($0) and carries with it a lot of responsibility. He did an excellent job and the Chamber honed its focus and drive during his tenure.
Sappington has been a Chamber member for close to a decade, and most recently served as the Chamber Board Secretary. He has been a board member for three years, and has served on the Chamber's Finance, Governmental Affairs and Education committees.
Sappington is Vice President of Cobb, Fendley and Associates Inc., a multi-discipline, multi-city civil engineering and surveying company, and is a member of the Houston Council of Engineering Companies board of directors.
He is also a member of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District's Leadership Committee, and a deacon in the United Church of God, Houston North congregation.
Other members of the team (Chamber 2010 board of directors) include: Brenda Angelini, Adventures in Advertising/Angelini & Associates; Dr. David Anthony, Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District; Mike Castro, City of Jersey Village; Jim Fordice, Maid Brigade of NW Houston; April Jones, Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union; Dr. Audre Levy, Lone Star College-CyFair; Reginald Lillie, Reginald Lillie Insurance; David McKinney, David W. McKinney, CPA PLLC; Greg Nelson, Hewlett-Packard Company; Stuart Snow, Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District; Terry Wheeler, Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital; Dr. George Wright, Prairie View A&M University; and Mary Evans, President, Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce.
