Whataburger opens new location in Cy-Fair

From a press release:
Whataburger will celebrate the grand opening of its newest restaurant, located in northwest Houston at 9232 W. Sam Houston Parkway North (near the intersection of Beltway 8 and West Rd. by Jersey Village High School), on Tuesday, February 23, from noon to 2 p.m. The restaurant brings nearly 40 new jobs to the city.
Grand opening plans include food and prize giveaways, buy one get one free Whataburgers and a live remote on local radio station Sunny 99.1. Customers can also register for a chance to win breakfast or lunch for their local business office.
The day's festivities will cap off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5 p.m., complete with a heart-felt thank you address from the Dobson family and a special dinner. Whataburger will also present a generous donation to the Literacy Advance foundation in order to support reading education in the local community.
We have a long history in Houston and are excited to open this new location to serve our northwest Houston customers more conveniently. They've already shown us a warm welcome," said Mark Brown, Whataburger Restaurants, LP Regional Director of Operations. We appreciate the Houston community's loyal business since 1971 and thank Sunny 99.1 and Literacy Advance for their support as well. We look forward to serving custom, made-to-order Whataburgers to Houstonians for years to come."
Construction of the new Whataburger was completed in about three months, and opened for business on January 29. The new restaurant seats about 98 customers in the dining room.
Whataburger has focused on its fresh, made-to-order burgers and friendly customer service since 1950 when Harmon Dobson opened the first Whataburger as a small roadside burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dobson gave his restaurant a name he hoped to hear customers say every time they took a bite of his made-to-order burgers: What a burger!" Within the first week, people lined up around the block for his 25 cent, all-American beef burgers served on five-inch buns. Today, the company is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, with more than 700 locations in 10 states with sales of more than $1 billion annually.
