Cy Creek HS theater at Cypress Market Nights
From a Cy-Fair ISD press release:
Cy Creek High School Theater Arts Department will have a fundraising event Friday, March 12th when the Cypress Market Nights presents "A Theatrical Festival."
Cypress Market Nights, held Fridays from 4 until 8 p.m., at the corner of Hwy 290 and Skinner Road, is an outdoor market that includes restaurants, fresh produce, arts and crafts booths and music. The public is welcome to wear their favorite theatrical costume and come out and enjoy the entertainment and participate in a silent auction, raffles, face painting, various carnival games, sodas and candy sales all benefiting the Cy Creek theater department.
Some of the Cy Creek theater students will be performing various selections throughout the evening, including selected scenes from Pippin", the musical that Cy Creek will be performing at the International Thespian Festival held in June in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is the first time in the Cy-Fair ISD's history that a Cy-Fair high school play has been asked to perform at the International Thespian Festival.
The Stephen Schwartz musical, directed by Marilyn Miller, Cy Creek Theater Department head and choreographed by Jack Degelia is one of only eight plays throughout the U.S. asked to perform at the International Thespian Festival. The technical and musical director of Pippin was Paul Copenhaver, with production assistance from Marilyn Ocker, both Cy Creek teachers.
Please come out and support the high school theater program and have a great evening of fun at the Cypress Market Nights A Theatrical Festival"!
