Towne Lake to host annual Heart Walk
The American Heart Association's annual Northwest Harris County Start! Heart Walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Towne Lake in Cypress.
The 3-mile route (with a one-mile short route option) will begin at the north parking lot of Lone Star College CyFair, 9191 Barker-Cypress Road, and wind through the neighboring Towne Lake community.
Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 9 a.m. and the walk will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The start/finish area will include a Kid Zone and youths are invited to come in costume to participate in the Halloween Costume Parade before the walk begins.

After the walking event, Towne Lake will host its second annual craft show at the Towne Lake Welcome Center, 9214 North Bridgeport Pass Circle West. More than 30 vendors will be featured.
Symphony starts season
Symphony North of Houston welcomes the community to kick off its 36th season of bringing classical music to the Northwest Houston area.
Upcoming concert dates include: Sunday, Oct. 24, Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 in Eb Major and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite; and Saturday, Dec. 4, Christmas favorites.
Concerts begin at 4 p.m. at Northwood Presbyterian Church, 3320 FM 1960 W., Houston.
Admission is free although donations are welcome.

'Our Town' presented
Langham Creek Ensemble presents Thornton Wilder's American classic, Our Town, at Langham Creek Theater, 17610 FM 529.
The production will be accompanied by the Langham Creek Orchestra.
This play consists of minimal props and set pieces, with most action pantomimed by the actors.
Performance dates are Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 28-30, and Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5-6. The Oct. 28 performance will be at 5 p.m. The Oct. 29 performance will be at 8 p.m. with a catered dinner, beginning at 6:30 p.m. All other shows are 7 p.m.

Church holds festival
The 21st annual Wee Wuns Fall Festival is set for Saturday, Oct. 30, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Cypress United Methodist Church, 13403 Cypress North Houston.
Enjoy games, food, a pumpkin patch, costume contest and silent auction. Proceeds benefit Wee Wuns, a ministry of Cypress United Methodist Church that provides early childhood education. For more information, go to www.cypressunited.org/
Gala to honor stars
The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation will honor Cy-Fair Independent School District's Spotlight Teachers at the 13th annual Salute to the Stars Gala at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Berry Center, 8877 Barker-Cypress Road.
