Cy-Fair, Cy Woods to square off

The Cy-Fair Bobcats and Cy Woods Tigers will get a chance to see just how good they are when they square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cy-Fair High School.
Cy Woods and Cy-Fair are two of the teams picked to battle for the District 15-5A baseball title in 2010.
Cy Creek, Cy Falls and Jersey Village also are expected to be in the district-championship mix.
Cy-Fair won the state title a few years ago, while Cy Woods has been right on the Bobcats' heels ever since it started playing varsity baseball.
ABOUT THE GAME
Matchup: Cy Woods vs. Cy-Fair
When: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday
Where: Cy-Fair High School
At stake: A possible district crown. There is a long way to go in the conference race. But when these two teams meet, it is always very important when it comes down to tie-breakers at the end of the year.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Cy-Fair: Matt Cardemone (LF); Trevor Clifton (C); Cory Hulsey (2B/SS); Brandon King (3B/P); Ryan Suescon (2B).
Cy Woods: Corie Bolton (CF); Cody Dickerson (P/3B); Jared Lakind (P); Daniel Smith (C); Matt Williams (P/CF).
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
Cy-Fair: With 10 teams now in the district race, the Bobcats used the Cy-Fair tournament as a tune-up for district play. The District 15-5A teams have no non-district games this year because of their 18-game district schedules. It will be a long grind, but Woody Champagne is the master at preparing his club for the long district season ahead.
Cy Woods: The Tigers might have the best battery in District 15-5A with pitchers Jared Lakind, Cody Dickerson and Michael Williams and catcher Daniel Smith. Lakind and Dickerson have been decorated players for quite some time now. If these guys play up to expectations, Cy Woods is going to be hard to beat in the conference race this year.
