Cy Creek HS Theater holding two April fundraisers

Cy Creek High School Theater Arts Department has several fundraising events in April, including performances of two dramatic plays on Thursday, April 8th and a variety show and silent auction on Friday, April 16th. Both events are at Cy Creek H.S. at 9815 Grant Rd. Proceeds from both events will benefit the forty cast and crew members of Pippin" who will be performing at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska in June.
The UIL one act play, The Cripple of Inishmaan," performed in this year's UIL competition, along with the play And They Dance Real Slow in Jackson" will be performed Thursday, April 8th at 7 pm. The Cripple of Inishmaan" is set in 1934 on an island off the coast of Ireland and is a coming of age story of Billy, a physically handicapped boy who wants to go to the United States to star in a documentary. And They Dance Real Slow in Jackson" is set in Indiana and is about a girl named Elizabeth, who was crippled by polio. The play concerns her isolation and struggles in a world filled with prejudice. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students for the evening.
Cy Creek also presents A Night at Cy-Gleek" (A Variety Show) and Silent Auction on Friday April 16. Please join us at 6 pm for the silent auction and dinner. There will be items such as sports event and theater tickets, jewelry, hand crafted items and services. Please check our website after April 1 for additional details on dinner. The show will begin at 7 pm and will include faculty performances, musical numbers, skits and comedy performances. Tickets for the show will be $8 for adults and $5 for students.
